The observatory does provide excellent views of North Korea, but not the real North Korea!. At the opposite bank of the river we could see the collective farm apartments those are just fake buildings, but no one actually lives in! ( Fake Village). It was clear after seeing that landscape through telescope on the top of the observatory. I could not see any sign of life on the opposite bank of the river i.e North Korea. Eventhough it was around 7PM, there was no electric light, as all the buildings stands in dark!.
But green shedded hills of North Korea stands apart by considering the beauty!. it was so wonderful, even sunset was awesome. Besides North Korea, we could see the beautiful rural area of north side of South Korea. If we look at the south from the observatory the steep peaks of Korea’s most visited National Park, Bukhan Mountain is easily visible.
Except the great views, inside there is an intresting museum, displays everyday items, cloth designs of North Korea and North Korean Toys. But it was surprising to see the model of North Korean classroom and apartment, that highlights the power of JI Kim and blind faith of North Korean civiliens towards their king. After hearing so many stories, my heart feel sad about North korean people. So when I came back from observatory, even now my heart beats for them!. God grace them.........oh...finally forgot to say....it was minus 5 that evening. totally chilled....yet warmed inside by seeing wonderful location. After that we had a nice dinner (korean traditional) at my friend Angela house. ( Thanks to her for guiding, driving, caring us....)
